Polygamist’s Special December 9, 2007

Yesterday Devastatingly Handsome took me on a date (we call anywhere we go, even to the mailbox, sans kids a date) to the Amish bulk food and seconds store.

I pointed out a box of roses made of feathers as he is not attentive to detail and their unique style impressed me in much the same way a rose made of finger jello would, only these you would not even be able to get rid of by eating and they didn’t look big enough to make good dusters.

feather rose

He busted up laughing.

Seems the proprieter had affixed a sign (sorry, no camera) to the side of the feather rose box:

TAKE ONE HOME TO YOUR WIFE

Miss Dance is not generally the poetic type. However, she composed a song last night as we pulled in front of the house ~ here~ for your enjoyment ~ the sight she beheld and the song she sang:

100_0645We three trees on Banana Road,

Strung by Dad so elegantly

Made of lights on tomato ca-ages, shi-ining through the snow

OOOOHHHH, trees of wonder, trees so bright

Trees made out of Christmas lights

In the back yard, in the front yard,

Bringing cheer to all around.

Brightness now behold them rise,

One thousand six hundred lights in all.

I’m beginning to wonder what our electricity bill is going to be!

OOOOHHHH, trees of wonder trees so bright

Trees made out of Christmas lights

In the back yard, in the front yard,

Bringing cheer to all around.

Merry Christmas! (instead of Amen)

Somehow Miss Dance can make it fit the meter. I have to tell you, though, I thought she was singing “Wee Three Trees.” Oh, well.
