Just Wondering October 11, 2007

Devastatingly Handsome is doing some fall cleaning and stacked the old World magazines to take to a friend. I made the mistake of flipping through one and re-read this article about a lady who had her pool stolen. Now, it was bad enough way back in July but I figured we’d hear what had happened. I googled to see how the story ended up and all I could find was people speculating about alien abductions.

the dropping of the proverbial other shoe, thanks to Miss Language

This is all putting me in some sort of state I have a vague memory of from Psych 101, the kind of thing where you can’t go to sleep because you are waiting for the other shoe to drop. I think it was called “seeking closure.” So a quick search shows me the cool thing I even remembered how to spell: seeking pragnanz.

where is the pragnanz in so much missing H2O?

So, if anyone knows where this lady’s water went, please post, and get me back to a state of closure.  Please.

how can I be happy without closure?

Of course it was aliens! Didn’t you see the crop circle where the pool used to be? ;-)
Sorry if I scared you from watching the video! It’s actually very tame. And everyone speaks German. I never get bored with hearing German. (I took it for two years in college simply because I love hearing it!)

*L* Obviously, it was a very thirsty elephant.

I’d be curious, too, with the exception that I know exactly how they did it. They wouldn’t have to wait until the husband went to sleep to drain the pool. How many people at midnight look out in their back yard? I don’t. Those pools drain fairly quickly and once you got it down to a certain level - you could sit on the side and let the water out the rest of the way. I really think the water was drained there (Look at the pool marks.)or Maybe cranky neighbors destroyed the pool and got rid of the evidence?

It might be fun to make up the ending - like those old “Choose the ending” books they used to print oh so long ago.
