Posted by carpebanana in : Ramblings , 2commentsToday was one of those Sundays that started with a bad attitude on my part. Miss Dog Lover and Mr Music both had the orthodontist attach various instruments of torture in their mouths on Friday and are not happy campers. They cannot yet eat anything other than mush and don’t talk right. They need lots of attention keeping things clean and cared for. They need lots of loving on and today I was tired of it. When we got in the car I thought, “I sure hope the sermon is not on love and service or anything like that.” One of those thoughts that immediately as I thought it I knew, “Oh boy my goose is cooked.”
Well, of couse, we did not even get as far as the sermon before the flames hit the goose. The opening prayer included (*smack*) a prayer that “love would grow and service expand in our congregation.” Of course God is kind to me, so after the *smack* visitors came who actually made me want to reach out, and the agonies of the mouth seem greatly lessened today. I guess that love and service stuff is OK, after all.
