Virtual Pub June 7, 2007

What I want for meals is the Ploughman’s Lunch.
I am presenting a menu of various platters. You may choose whichever appeals to you. Bubble and Squeak and sweets may surface on another posting. You’ve been warned.

I think this one would be better off with a chunky roll, no salad, and a more substantial looking plate.

What’s in the crock? And why can’t these girls dress more like I picture people in pubs?

Now there’s a serious chunk of cheese.

I wonder what the stuff up front is… one dollop looks like mustard… and no pickle. It needs some sort of whole grain bread instead of white.

This is looking more like it: strange roll shape, several sorts of cheese, dangerous knife, and seeds still in the apple.

Again, I think the knife adds a nice touch. But the slices of cheese sure don’t look the real thing, do they? And no apple.

Here’s another big chunk of cheese but the knife is not the real thing. This meal just looks a little sissyfied — tell me those aren’t alfalfa sprouts?

One webpage claims this is the perfect Ploughman’s lunch. Again, it needs a more substantial roll and maybe thicker cheese, but you can’t beat the apple and tomato for authenticity.
